Formula 1 Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton took control of the world f1 chinese grand prix 2018 watch on Sunday - as rival Sebastian Vettel defended his number one billing at Ferrari. But as Mercedes were celebrating their third one-two finish from as many rounds, Ferrari were dealing with a battle for driver supremacy which threatens to destabilise their season.
Unsurprisingly to some, Ferrari is tipped to take home the spoils in China.
This is despite Hamilton winning the race five times , , , , Although he looks certain to be a future World Champion and a safe bet as the most dominant driver of the s, there is still a chance that he can show everyone what he is made of in In Bahrain, we saw more than just flashes of his exemplary driving skills.
His control and poise were remarkable, and he will surely make up for the heartbreak he suffered at the International Circuit.

The incumbent F1 World Champion made a habit of taking chances to capitalize on even the most minute of opportunities in The ability to win races when all looks lost is surely the sign of a true champion.
Capitalizing on the smallest of opportunities against his rival, Hamilton then overtook the German on Turn 4.
It was as sublime a maneuver as you will see this year. Leclerc Showing the Right Signs Almost everyone watching the race on Sunday, March 31, must have felt as though they were watching a future World Champion.
Although nerves in the first lap of the race made him look a little shaky from the outset, he soon found his feet. He dominated Vettel and the reigning champion Hamilton, which would have come as little surprise to his peers who already rate him tremendously. This was the first time that Leclerc had led a Grand Prix and was his first-ever podium finish.
In fact, the Monegasque had never finished higher than fifth in a GP before Bahrain, even though this would have felt more like a consolation prize. What further impressed pundits and fans was the manner of maturity that Leclerc exuded following the race.
It appears that Leclerc is confident enough — and possesses the clarity of vision — to know that this is merely a blip on the radar of his career. If anything, it will only make him stronger.
With just five wins last season, the four-time World Champion was expected to shake off the rust this year and mount a serious challenge in the SF Vettel holds the record for most driver wins 4 at Bahrain, and I had expected him to grab his fifth this time out.
However, the only thing that Vettel left the circuit with was an abundance of questions surrounding his future at Ferrari.
The spin that saw him give up his position to rival Hamilton on Lap 38 was certainly unfortunate.
But was there more to it than just ill fate? Vettel denied choking under pressure and feeling the heat of being upstaged by Leclerc, the man who will surely take his mantle as the main man at Ferrari — unless he can rediscover his form.
I got surprised when I lost the rear that suddenly, and then when I was in the spin it was already too late. So, who are you going to back?
The Monaco native will surely be looking to avenge that loss when he takes to the Shanghai International Circuit on Sunday, April Sooner or later, Leclerc will pick up his first Grand Prix win.
The bookies believe it could be as soon as April The German is an incredible driver and has the ability to turn it all around.
Although I backed Vettel to win in Bahrain, if not for a pretty unfortunate error, he could have easily been on top of the podium at the end of the day.
Vettel needs a win, and he needs one soon.
There is a fire lit under his backside right now, and we will see just what he is made of when he takes to practice in China. Ruling Vettel out for this race is not a wise move. Surprisingly, Hamilton is just second-favorite to clinch a second win of the season in China.
I say surprisingly, as, out of all the drivers in the favorites for this race, he has the best winning record 5. Hamilton has already started this season better than he did in and will be highly confident of collecting another World Championship this year.
In Formula 1, momentum is one of the most important things for a driver to have behind them. Hamilton is riding momentum into this race and has a great record on the track, winning three of the last five, and five overall. Still, Bahrain could be the shot in the arm the Brit needs to cement himself as the clear favorite for a hat-trick of championships.
He should be on the podium at very least in China. If Bottas can get off to a good start over the weekend of the race, he has a solid chance of registering his second win in just three races. Bottas finished second in Shanghai in and will fancy his chances of going even one better this year.
The odds alone are worth a shot. This year, a strong performance at China can certainly expedite that theory. The Belgian-Dutch year-old has been a sensation since joining Formula 1 in , becoming the youngest ever driver to compete in the sport in the process.
Then again, there will be plenty of F1 betting enthusiasts who will be delighted to pick him up with such odds. If he is on the track, he has a chance; that much is certain.
As mentioned above, Lewis Hamilton is certainly someone who will enjoy the Chinese Grand Prix, given that he is the most successful F1 driver to ever race there. He has also registered the fastest lap on the track on four separate occasions , , , While Leclerc has only ever finished here once, in 19th place, he is being heavily backed to win the race.
Vettel, on the other hand, has won here just once in Last year, the German finished 8th. Well, unless you are Lewis Hamilton, not much would be the answer. He has looked better with every lap this year and is demonstrating one of the hallmarks of a true World Champion driver — the ability to win ugly.
That said, if you are betting on the Chinese Grand Prix, you will find that there is value to be found in the Mercedes ranks other than Hamilton. While it is early days in the championship, he is currently on top of the tree.
You can expect a big showing from Bottas in Shanghai. A self-confessed sports fanatic, when Adam is not watching and writing about rugby, soccer, Gaelic Games, and F1, he can be often be found working on methods and strategies to beat the bookies.
